01 | St. Kitts & Nevis Citizenship by Investment

The eligibility requirements to apply for St. Kitts and Nevis Citizenship by Investment Programme, are first and foremost be of outstanding character and be in good health. Furthermore, all applicants over the age of 16 years old must successfully complete a process of due diligence verification, that is made by St. Kitts agency in collaboration with reputable firms. Finally, the applicant will have to make a significant financial investment in a specified sector of the island’s economy, such as:

  • Option A. Make a contribution to St. Kitts and Nevis (Sustainable Island State Contribution) of $250,000 USD for a single applicant. An additional amount of $50,000 USD is applied for a spouse and of $50,000 USD for a minor dependent.
  • Option B. Acquire a property in an approved real estate project for a minimum cost of $400,000 USD in St. Kitts and Nevis. The property will have to be maintained for a period of 7 years.

Governmental fees:
It is important to note, that solely under the real estate investment category, there are additional governmental fees equivalent equivalent to:

  • $25,000 USD for a single applicant, $40,000 USD for a couple and $50,000 USD for a family of three.

Due Diligence fees:
The following due diligence fees are applied for all investment categories: $7,500 USD for a single applicant, $4,000 USD for a spouse and $4,000 USD for each dependent (over the age of 16 years old).

Below is a process outline with approximate wait times:

Stage 1: The first step consists of preparation of all personal and supporting documents required for the St. Kitts and Nevis citizenship application. This involves the translation of the documents in English and the legalization or certification of the documents by a local notary. During this first stage, the applicant will also have to identify the investment option he will move forward with. If it is a property investment, our associates will provide guidance and support during the selection of a property as well as the transaction.

Stage 2: Once the application file is complete, we can submit the official citizenship application on your behalf to the St. Kitts and Nevis Citizenship by Investment Unit (CIU). To process the application, due diligence and governmental fees will have to be paid.

Stage 3: Due diligence check process will begin for every applicant part of the application that is 16 years old and older and can last approximately 60-90 days.

Stage 4: In the event that the application and the due diligence process have been approved, the applicant will receive a letter of approval in principle. The applicant will then have to proceed with the chosen financial investment.

Stage 5: Following the investment, the processing time can take up between 1 and 2 weeks to obtain the Certificate of Citizenship and 1-2 weeks to obtain the passports of St. Kitts and Nevis.
